Period stigma is a huge issue in our society today which can pose menstruation to be a negative experience, particularly for younger girls who are navigating and adapting to this new change in their body. This has a significant influence on their emotional wellbeing, such as feelings of anxiety due to uncertainty and lowered self confidence due to period shame.
In response to this, I designed this graphics and advertisement based campaign targeted towards young girls. It educates them on menstruation, encourages conversations on the topic and creates supportive communities, to ultimately tackle the cycle of period stigma. I used a combination of research and marketing techniques throughout the project to better understand the needs of young girls and to inform the graphic design choices to appeal and engage this target community.
